There are several benefits to volunteering with PMI HVC. First and foremost, volunteers are rewarded with a sense of satisfaction that comes from giving back to the community and the profession of project management. Volunteers play an active part in growing a local not-for-profit organization, whose mission is to foster recognition of project management's role in society and connect professionals to the business marketplace.
In addition, our regular volunteers enjoy the following benefits, some of which have helped advance careers, generate business, and create relationships:
- Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce SMART Discount Card! – This benefit is unique to PMIHVC and can virtually pay for your membership. Click here for more information on the SMART Discount Card.
- Unique experience to supplement or complement your resume and help you stand out from the crowd
- Business contacts and an expanded network of professionals & community organizations
- PDU's that can be used to maintain or apply for a PMI credential
Volunteer opportunities range from short-term / temporary activities (1-3 hours, one time) to regular committee-lead roles (Board members / Directors – 4-8 hours per month). PMIHVC has many different opportunities available, and the hours / skills needed for each opportunity vary. Start out with a small commitment to give volunteering a try - we have positions to fit everyone's busy schedule!
