Calling all PMI Hudson Valley Chapter members – We need your help!

uncle-sam-we-want-youHave you considered taking on a more meaningful role with YOUR professional association? Are you interested in working with a great team of individuals to the betterment of the Project Management profession and all those who practice it? If so, please read on regarding additional functions and areas that YOUR local PMI chapter is seeking to fill so that we might provider a higher level of value to ALL of our membership. Remember, giving back is beneficial to a Project Management professional’s overall development, both as a practitioner and as a member of the professional community! Following are the areas we are actively looking for volunteers for to enhance our chapter. Please feel free to contact me, or any chapter board member, regarding your interest in any of these areas or with any questions you may have. We’re a friendly group and love the idea of growing our team of volunteers!

Director, Marketing – Responsible for chapter-based marketing/public relations to increase awareness of PMI and local PMI chapter within the area. Supports member acquisition, retention, event promotion, outreach activities, sponsorships and activities aligned with chapter strategic objectives.

Director, Mentoring – Responsible for design and roll out of  a chapter ‘Mentoring Program’, not currently in place, for the chapter. Mentoring is identified as an opportunity area for chapter based on recent PMI chapter survey results.  

Director(s) of Outreach – Responsible for Outreach efforts in Academia (Grade School, High School, College), Community (Non-Profits, Military, Gov’t, etc.) and Corporate (For Profits, etc.). Goal to spread awareness/understanding of Project Management profession/value in all areas.

Director, Sponsorship -  Responsible for identifying, contacting and working with local Stakeholders (Corporate, recruiting, PMI REP’s, etc.) to establish relationships supporting the financial needs of the PMI chapter while also returning value to the sponsor related to activities delivered by the chapter.

Director, Technology – Responsible for investigating and establishing chapter capability for hosting and recording remote program meetings, topic workshops, webinars allowing for greater access to geographically or time challenged chapter members.

Director, Volunteers -  Responsible for driving fulfillment of ongoing chapter need for volunteers. Involvement with recruiting, motivating, communicating, retention and recognition in accordance with PMI Hudson Valley chapter policies and bylaws.

Liason, Dutchess Chamber of Commerce – Provides a valuable communications link between PMI chapter and Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce, of which PMIHVC is a long standing member. Represents PMI chapter and reports back on opportunities to take advantage of DCC membership.

Liason, PMI Educational Foundation – Provides a vital communications and activities link between the PMI Educational Foundation and the PMI chapter for the purpose of promoting awareness of PMIEF, its available resources, and leveraging to increase value for/to PMI chapter members.
